In response to an increased demand for ice skating in line with the city's successful bid to host the 2022 Winter Olympics, a new professional ice skating rink will be built in Wukesong Sports Center in Haidian district, reported the Beijing Times.
The new ice skating rink will be open to the public but will especially cater to professional skaters. On the other hand, the outdoor skating rink built last year in the center mainly caters to amateur skaters, featuring auxiliary equipment designed for beginners.
