Chinese women are among the most beautiful women in the world and their beauty is partly due to genetics, said the famous Belgian dermatologist Francoise Guiot during a recent interview with Xinhua.

For Chinese women and other Asian women, skin changes associated with age, wrinkles, lines, etc... are marked less than Caucasians, said Dr. Guiot.

The dermis of Asian skin is thicker and denser, it contains a greater concentration of collagen, she explained, that's why the Asians seem to grow old more slowly than the Caucasians.

In addition, the Asians have also more compact and denser skin, Dr. Guiot added.

Guiot graduated in dermatology from the Catholic University of Leuven and specializes in aesthetic dermatology. As a member of the Belgian Royal Society of Dermatology and Venereology, she is the author of numerous articles on the subject and is often called upon to appear in magazines and television.

Over the past six months, by summarizing the results of her researches and treatment experience during last 10 years on Asian women, mostly Chinese, Dr. Guiot has written a book entitled "To meet the Chinese beauty - The point of view of a Western dermatologist," which is already translated into Chinese and is sold online.

The beauty standards of women, from ancient China to today, have evolved considerably, but the only one that has survived the centuries is that of flawless skin and perfect complexion, Guiot said in the book.

According to Guiot, the Chinese skin is more resistant to the ravages of time, but is more vulnerable to the slightest physical trauma.

She therefore suggested the Chinese women to know first their skin type and to always use the right products for their skin type, but also to pay attention to lifestyle and diet, not to smoke, and to drink green tea every day (green tea contains super powerful antioxidant, which can powerfully destroy harmful effects of free radicals), etc.
