Firefighters are battling a fire that engulfed a plant in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on Tuesday night, according to local fire control authorities.
The blaze broke out at around 10 p.m. at the waste processing plant at an industrial park in Liuzhou City, with no casualties have been reported yet, said the authorities.
A witness told Xinhua that he saw flames high in the sky and more than a dozen fire engines sprayed water from distance to contain the fire.
The witness said the local people have been kept about one kilometer away from the site, adding that thick smoke still billowed shortly after midnight.
