Yesterday (August 18), city authorities and up to 3,800 safety inspectors began sweeps for safety hazards at public places, tourism facilities, public transport, offices, and more along the route of the military parade that is scheduled for September 3 to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the success of World War II, the Beijing Youth Daily reported. [Special coverage]
