An archive exhibition on China and Russia's cooperation in WWII opened in Beijing on Tuesday.[Special coverage]
China and the former Soviet Union defeated fascist forces and forged profound friendship during the war, according to the State Archives Administration of China and the Archive Bureau of the Russian Federation co-hosting the event.
The exhibition displays a large amount of authentic historical documents and pictures stored in China and Russia archives, trying to reproduce the heroic moments of 70 years ago.
The exhibition depicts the former Soviet Union's support for China, including a large arsenal of weapons, the deployment of military advisers in the Chinese army, air force aid to China and directly dispatching troops to northeast China to fight the Japanese army.
China's backing for Russia is also reflected in the display. China had provided vast rare mineral resources and sent its people to fight side by side with Russian soldiers in the battlefield against Nazi Germany.
The latter part of the exhibition is about highlights of the Chinese and Russian victory over fascism, such as the fall of Berlin, the Potsdam Proclamation, the Nuremberg Trials and the Tokyo Trials.
The exhibition will last till Sept. 13.
