China's national political advisors held a meeting in Beijing on Wednesday offer their ideas cultivating and implementing core socialist values.
Liu Yunshan, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, was invited to brief the political advisors on the issue at the Standing Committee meeting of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee.
It is important to incorporate socialist core values into the country's economic and social development, people's daily lives and work, family traditions and education, Liu said.
Key figures and Party cadres should play an exemplary role in practicing the core values while public figures should be encouraged to abide by social ethics and enhance their social responsibility to help the young to foster virtues at an early age, he noted.
Efforts should be made to enable policies, laws, social governance and cultural environment to create a favorable social environment to cultivate the core socialist values, Liu added.
Political advisors at the meeting agreed that core socialist values must be internalized as people's spiritual pursuits to achieve the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
They suggested promoting social ethics, family values, societal awareness of the rule of law, traditional culture and innovate ways to publicize the values.
