The body of Wang Dongxing, a former senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official, was cremated on Thursday.
Wang, a Standing Committee member of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau from 1977 to 1980, died on Aug. 21 at the age of 100.
Chinese leaders including President Xi Jinping expressed sadness at his loss.
He was praised in an official obituary as "an excellent CPC member, time-tested loyal communist fighter and proletarian revolutionist."
