All 12 missing people have been confirmed dead after their bodies were retrieved from the debris of a landslide that buried a section of road in southwest China's Yunnan Province about one week ago, local authorities said on Friday.
The accident happened around 7 p.m. on Aug. 22 at a village in Funing County. Twelve people went missing after local government officials visited households in several villages near the site of the landslide, according to the county's publicity office.
Witnesses said they saw people passing by the road when the disaster occurred. The landslide site is about 32 km from the county seat.
More than 200 rescuers, 11 excavators and four sniffer dogs participated in the rescue mission.
