A spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General has confirmed that Ban Ki-Moon will arrive in Beijing next Wednesday to attend the September the 3rd military parade marking the Chinese People's victory in the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression. [Special coverage]
The Secretary-General is set to meet with President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Keqiang, Vice Premier Liu Yandong; and Minister for Foreign Affairs Wang Yi. He is expected to discuss issues of mutual interest, including the 70th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations, climate change and the forthcoming UN Sustainable Development Summit.
The Secretary-General will also meet with the heads of UN agencies and programs in China, before travelling back to New York on the 6th of September.
