An anti-terrorist formation consisting of 18 armored police vehicles will be showcased in the military parade on Sept. 3 in Beijing, military sources revealed on Friday. [Special coverage]
Completed in May, the white and olive-green vehicles will be the youngest armaments in the parade.
The formation also includes 104 armed police from the elite "Snow Leopard Commando" force.
This will be the first time that the commando force, established in 2009, has appeared in China's annual military parade.
China will also display two formations of domestically-designed surface-to-air missiles in the parade.
Eleven foot formations, 27 armament formations, 10 aircraft formations and two veteran teams will be included in the parade, which commemorates the 70th anniversary of victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the end of World War II.
