A representative from the Palace Museum said on Sunday that they have not increased the ticket fare for 13 years, following statements from media outlet chinanews.com that they kept increasing the ticket fare, the Beijing Morning Post reported.

The interviewee stated that a handful of tourist attractions, including the Palace Museum, increased their ticket fare to make profit, which has inconvenienced the public.

An anonymous officer from the museum said that they have not increased the ticket fare since 2002. The ticket fare during the peak season is 60 yuan ($9.43) and 40 yuan during off season.
