Chinese and Mongolian police held a joint anti-terror drill in the city of Erenhot on Monday, further efforts combating cross-border crimes and maintaining regional stability.

The drill involved 700 Chinese officers and 78 Mongolian officers.

Officers of the two countries exhibited their skills of fist fight, building climbing and group shooting.

During the drill, the officers dealt with scenarios such as a train station terrorist attack, illegal border crossing and fighting in urban areas.

In a hostage situation, Chinese police rescued the hostages with multidimensional attacks.

Chinese and Mongolian police cooperate extensively in cracking down cross-border drug and arm trafficking, achieving great progress in maintaining stability in the border area.

The drill would help the two sides better cope with regional crisis, said Ma Ming, vice chairman of Inner Mongolian Autonomous Region.
