· The differences between China and the U.S. do not dominate the relationship between the two countries.

· The new pattern of relationships between China and the U.S. should not just be paid lip-service.

· There are benefits of cooperation for both sides, while antagonism makes both lose out.

· How China and the U.S. determine each other's strategic intent will directly affect what kind of relationship we will develop. We cannot afford to make mistakes on this fundamental issue.

· We cannot be afraid of difficulties in developing the new pattern of the China-U.S. relationship. The key is not to let the problems lead us by the nose.

· China and the U.S. can develop a new pattern different from the confrontational stands between major powers in history, which can boost world peace and be a ballast for stability.

· The China Dream is consistent with all kinds of people's dreams around the world, including the American Dream.

· There is enough space in the Asia-Pacific to accommodate two major powers. China and the U.S. should work to achieve positive interaction in the Asia Pacific region and maintain regional stability and prosperity,President Xi told Secretary of State John Kerry in the Great Hall of People on April 13, 2013.

· China and the U.S. should respect each other's core interests and major concerns, and to strengthen dialogue and cooperation is the only right choice between the two countries, President Xi said during the meeting with U.S. Vice President Joe Biden in the Great Hall of People on Dec 4, 2013.

· China and the U.S. should take a long-term perspective and understand the world from a strategic height, and at the same time start from the small aspects, said President Xi when meeting with former U.S. Secretary of state Kissinger on April 24, 2013.
