During a meeting with British Prime Minister David Cameron on Dec 2, 2013, Chinese President Xi Jinping said now is the right time for China and the United Kingdom to seek stronger cooperation.
He briefed Cameron on the decision on deepening reforms approved at the third Plenary Session of the 18th Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee earlier in November.
Cameron said the UK places great importance on China's success and developing ties with China, and would like to maintain high-level interactions with China and deepen understanding of China.
Cameron said the recent CPC Plenum has provided a blueprint for China's future and is impressive, adding that he is convinced that China will accomplish its goals.
Cameron gave Chinese President Xi Jinping a jersey signed by the current national football team of England and a pair of Mulberry gloves for Xi's wife, Peng Liyuan as gifts.
The two met again during the Nuclear Security Summit in The Hague, the Netherlands, March 25, 2014.
