Chinese police on Friday published details of an investigation into the disappearance of the teenage son of two lawyers, saying the matter was planned by "hostile foreign forces."
Bao Mengmeng, 16, is the son of Bao Longjun and Wang Yu, lawyers from Beijing's Fengrui Law Firm who have been detained on suspicion of illegally organizing protests.
The police said the teenager left Ulanhot in Inner Mongolia on Oct. 1 and arrived at Kunming in Yunnan the next day using a fake identification card, accompanied by a man called Tang Zhishun. Bao, along with Tang and another person illegally crossed the China-Myanmar border on Oct. 2.
The three were apprehended at a market in Mengla in northern Myanmar by local police on Oct. 6 and transferred to Chinese police.
"It was a well planned move which was completed within just 30 hours," said a statement by Chinese police.
"According to investigation, the plan was made by hostile foreign forces including two persons surnamed Wang and Xu," said the police, adding that Bao was to be taken to a western country from Thailand.
The 16-year-old has been taken back to Ulanhot and is staying with his grandmother.
