Brazilian forward Ricardo Goulart scored two second-half goals as Guangzhou Evergrande beat Tianjin Teda 2-0 in the 28th round of Chinese Super League.
The Evergrande broke the deadlock in the 61st minute when Goulart converted a spot kick. The 24-year-old Goulart scored his 17th goal of the season in the 81st minute after receiving a Robson de Souza Robinho pass.
Shanghai SIPG, Evergrande's nearest rivals, were held to a 2-2 draw with Shijiazhuang Ever Bright, a result which means SIPG is almost out of title contention.
When two rounds left to play in the League, SIPG are four points behind Evergrande.
Elsewhere on Saturday, Shandong Luneng beat Guizhou Renhe 5-2, Beijing Guoan downed Guangzhou R&F 2-0, Jiangsu Sainty tied Henan Jianye 1-1 and Shanghai Greenland defeated Changchun Yatai 3-0.
