The Chinese mainland hopes other countries deal with Taiwan according to the "one China" policy, a mainland official said on Wednesday.
The mainland's stand on Taiwan's interactions with other countries is "clear and consistent," An Fengshan, spokesman for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, told a press conference, in response to questions on the prospect of a Japanese version of the U.S. "Taiwan Relations Act" and Kuomintang chairman Eric Chu's upcoming visit to the United States.
On Tsai Ing-wen, chairwoman of the opposition Democratic Progressive Party's recent visit to Japan, An said the Foreign Ministry has lodged strong protest against "Taiwan independence" separatist activities on the international stage aiming to sabotage cross-Strait relations.
