Top political advisor Yu Zhengsheng will attend a cross-Strait entrepreneurs summit in Nanjing on November 3, a spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office said Wednesday.
An Fengshan said at a press briefing that the two-day event will be focused on innovative cooperation and boosting integration of industries.
Yu, a member of the Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China Central Committee Political Bureau and chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, will deliver a speech at the event.
More than 850 people from both sides of the Taiwan Strait, including business leaders, entrepreneurs and academics, will take part in the event.
The entrepreneurs will be encouraged to make joint efforts in boosting the Belt and Road Initiative at the summit. The Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road are international trade and infrastructure projects.
Also on Wednesday's briefing, An said the mainland has said it welcomed Taiwan's decision to apply to join the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) multiple times.
The mainland would be willing to see the AIIB deal with the issue in accordance with its charter, An said.
