The fifth plenary session of the 18th Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee on Thursday endorsed prior decision to revoke the membership of Ling Jihua, according to a statement released after the four-day meeting.
It also confirmed the expulsion of several other former senior officials, including Zhou Benshun and Yang Dongliang.
The previous decisions to strip them of their membership were made by the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.
