A Shanghai court dismissed the case of an individual investor suing the Shanghai Stock Exchange for its refusal to disclose trading information.
After hearing the case in July, the Shanghai First Intermediate Court ruled the disclosure requested by the plaintiff, an A-share investor surnamed Zheng, contained information on individual investors that should not be made public.
He claimed that he tried to buy a stock at the highest bid for six straight trading days in January but all attempts failed.
Zheng said he had asked the Shanghai Stock Exchange to tell him the accepted prices for the stock, the sequence and quantity of brokers' bids but the stock exchange refused to share the information.
