Police in southern China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region discovered nearly 1,000 kilograms of crystal meth and raw materials on Wednesday.
A joint-police team from Guangxi and neighboring Guangdong Province destroyed a meth lab in Tanxu Township, Qinzhou City, and confiscated 17.8 kg of crystal meth, 24.7 kg of semi-finished drugs, and about 800 kg of raw materials.
Huang Wanjun, Qinzhou Police Bureau deputy director, said this was the largest seize in recent years.
Seven suspects were arrested.
The maximum sentence for producing more than 50g of heroin or crystal meth is the death penalty, according to the Criminal Law.
