Fashion publisher Marie Claire and Australia's New South Wales (NSW) Government's tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW, have partnered to produce a new interactive Sydney shopping guide for visitors from China.
Developed in Mandarin, the guide showcases unique shopping destinations such as Paddington, Bondi, the Rocks and the Sydney CBD, as well as surrounding attractions and dining experiences.
The guide also encourages travel to Regional NSW including the Blue Mountains, Port Stephens and the Hunter Valley.
Stuart Ayres, NSW Minister for Trade, Tourism and Major Events, said the guide is the first of its kind launched for the Chinese market and will be delivered by one of China's largest social media platforms, WeChat.
"With over 90 per cent of smartphone users in China having a WeChat account, this is another significant opportunity to promote Sydney," Mr Ayres said.
Jackie Frank, Publisher of Marie Claire, said the Sydney shopping guide combines the expertise of Australia's number one fashion title, with a unique digital opportunity.
"It gives their longstanding partners the chance to reach the lucrative luxury Chinese tourist audience. It is only the beginning of a long relationship," Ms Frank said.
