China has dropped to the 84th position in the newly released FIFA world rankings, three slots lower than last month, according to the FIFA website.
China's slip in the rankings was caused by the loss at the 2018 World Cup Asian qualifier on Oct. 8 in Doha, Qatar.
The 1-0 loss made China sit on the third place with 7 points in Group C after four games. China must collect the maximum points in the following games to keep alive in the qualifying campaign.
China will host Bhutan next week in Changsha, the provincial capital of Hunan Province.
China ranked 9th in the continental table, one slot lower than last month. Iran (43rd) became the highest ranked Asian team, followed by South Korea (48th) and Japan (50th).
Belgium topped the world rankings followed by Germany and Argentina.
