Zhu Guangyao, China's vice finance minister, said the terror attacks hitting Paris on Friday evening is showing the world once again that terrorism is "the common enemy of all mankind."

In the face of this special challenge, it is of "special significance" for G20 members to make efforts to ensure a successful Antalya summit slated for Sunday and Monday, Zhu said at a press briefing.

As the primary platform for global economic coordination and cooperation, G20 leaders are scheduled to focus on means to achieve an inclusive, strong and balanced growth for the world economy and cope with the migration crisis and the scourge of terrorism.

In recognizing the risks posed by terrorism and its grave negative impact on the economic development, G20 must make its due response as well, Zhu said.

"Our due response should be enhancing our coordination, growing our economies, creating more jobs, stabilizing the global financial market, so we can really achieve sustainable, balanced and strong economic growth," he added. "And by doing so, we will not only achieve our development goals and eliminate poverty, we will also be really able to eliminate the soil that breeds ground for terrorism."

At least 120 people have been killed during the shootings and explosions in Paris and its suburbs, a development that prompted French President Francois Hollande to cancel his planned trip to Antalya.

China takes over G20 presidency early next month and will host another summit in its eastern city of Hangzhou in 2016.
