Ink Asia, an art fair specializing in contemporary ink art, will debut in Hong Kong on Dec 18.
More than 40 international galleries and art institutions will show ink works of various media, including paintings, photography, porcelains, video and installations at the fair that will run for three days at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Calvin Hui, director, Ink Asia, said in a statement that the event would serve as a platform for both collectors and visitors to re-interpret ink art traditions.
"I hope to see a market … to let everyone look at themselves through different perspectives, to explore the limitless possibilities of contemporary ink art," Hui said.
A solo exhibition of works by prominent painter Liu Kuo-sung, 83, marking his career of six decades, both as an artist and an art teacher, will also be held at the event.
