China has vowed zero tolerance of terrorism and violence in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, a foreign affairs ministry official said at the 34th China-EU Human Rights Dialogue in Beijing on Monday.
The activities of terrorist and violent forces severely infringe on people's lives and property, which is by no means a democratic, religious or freedom issue, but a crime, said Li Junhua, director-general of the Department of International Affairs of the Chinese foreign ministry.
On climate change, Li said that a better environment fundamentally safeguards and promotes human rights.
