Chongli county's Genting Resort Secret Garden, one of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics snow events venues, has built a strategic cooperative relationship with world top snowboarding tournament Air & Style to become its official training camp.
The ski resort will not only provide training facilities for Air&Style's players, but also hold various events with Air&Style.
"I am surprised by the snow here. It's one of the best artificial snow I've ever seen. It's really good," said Stale Sandbech of Norway, silver medalist of the snowboarding slopestyle at the 2014 Sochi Winter Games. "It really nice to come here."
Chinese snowboarding player He Wei, nicknamed "Tiger", was also surprised by the good snow.
"I have been here two or three years ago, and now the snow is much better," he said. "I enjoy skiing here."
According to Andrew Hourmont, the founder of Air & Style and the Chief Executive Officer of Air & Style in Europe, Genting Resort Secret Garden is the ideal training ground for snowboarding.
"Considering its advantageous geographical conditions and world-class snow facilities, we are looking forward to the cooperation with Genting Resort Secret Garden," he said.
Genting will also cooperate with LAAX, one of the best ski resorts in Switzerland, to build a "Youth Apartment" program of LAAX style. It will become the top training base for Asian freestyle skiing and snowboarding, satisfying the need of future Olympic receptions.
According to Chief Executive Officer of Genting David Xiao, Genting has held many events certified by FIS since 2012. It will build more skiing routes and an Asian top snowboarding park to fulfill the need of the 2022 Olympic Games. Genting will also offer training facilities and services for the Chinese national team.
