American sci-fi "The Martian" continued to rule China's box office in the week ending Dec. 6, earning 172 million yuan (26.6 million U.S. dollars) in the seven days.
It has pulled in more than 482 million yuan in Chinese theaters since opening on Nov. 25.
Domestic rom-com "Fall in Love Like A Star" earned 98 million yuan, coming in second in the week, China Film News reported Sunday. The film was released on Dec. 3.
Third spot went to "Point Break," with 76 million yuan in the week. The crime-thriller remake was released on Dec. 4.
Rom-com "Our Times" earned 70 million yuan to land in fourth place. The film was released on Nov. 19.
Rounding out the top five was "Impossible," a domestic comedy, with 54 million yuan. It opened on Dec. 4.
