The official website of China's central government, gov.cn, on Tuesday began to accept suggestions and opinions from the general public on the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-2020), the national economic and social development roadmap for the next five years.

Major portals including xinhuanet.com and sina.com are also collaborating with the government to collect viewpoints. Submissions will be accepted until Jan. 15, 2016.

All suggestions and opinions will be processed and transferred to the institutions that draft the five-year plan, with some pieces of advice to be highlighted on websites, according to the organizers.

To submit their opinions, the public must register with their real name, telephone number and email address.

Premier Li Keqiang has called for more public participation in the formulation of the plan, as well as opinions from analysts and economists from home and abroad.

A session of the 18th Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee adopted a proposal in October on formulating the five-year plan. It aims to build a "moderately prosperous society" and double its 2010 GDP and per capita income of both urban and rural residents by 2020.
