An Internet expo attended by more than 200 firms from across the world opened in east China's Wuzhen on Tuesday as part of the Second World Internet Conference.[Special coverage]
The exhibition displays the latest Internet technologies and products, such as Baidu's driverless car and Nokia's virtual reality camera. It has attracted 258 Chinese and foreign firms, including Alibaba, Tencent, Huawei, IBM and Microsoft.
The four-day expo, themed "Light of the Internet," has display areas for development concepts, "Internet plus," innovation and others, said organizers.
It showcased China's achievements for the Internet over the past 20 years and gathered the latest global Internet developments, said Lu Wei, minister in charge of the Cyberspace Administration of China, at the opening ceremony.
Chinese President Xi Jinping is expected to deliver a keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the Second World Internet Conference scheduled to be held from Wednesday to Friday, in the river town of Wuzhen in Zhejiang Province.
More than 2,000 attendees from over 120 countries and regions will participate in the conference.
