The Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPC) vowed punishment for law enforcers who obtain confessions through torture, conduct illegal searches, accept bribes in investigations or commit 15 other offenses that it listed on Thursday.

They include "violating the rights of informants, libelants and declarants, illegally depriving or limiting the personal freedom of individuals joining litigations, illegally seizing or freezing assets, and meeting privately with litigious parties, their relatives and interested parties."

The SPC said records should be kept of officials who violate these rules, and that they will face disciplinary punishment and be prosecuted for criminal liability.
