The State Council, China's cabinet, on Monday called for all-out efforts to ensure a smooth, fast rescue mission following Sunday's landslide in the southern city of Shenzhen.
The State Council has dispatched a team of senior officials and experts to the city to oversee and help rescue work. State councilor Wang Yong is leading the team.
Wang urged all government organs to verify the missing people, deploy the best medical resources for the injured, resettle those that have been displaced and investigate the disaster as soon as possible.
He also visited the injured and affected, and extended his sincere sympathy on behalf of the central government.
President Xi Jinping ordered a high-level response to the landslide, which has left 85 missing and 16 injured so far.
