Authorities in East China's Jiangxi Province are investigating a case in which a detention center official allowed a prisoner to have sex with a prostitute, news website thepaper.cn reported.
Hong Feng, an official from the Fuzhou public security bureau said that a senior official at a detention center in Dongxiang county allowed a sex worker to enter the center and offer her services to a prisoner in May, and the city authorities are now reviewing the case.
The case was revealed to thepaper.cn by an insider, who said that the police "covered up the scandal" and gave light punishment to the people involved.
After accepting a carton of cigarettes priced over 600 yuan ($92), Lei Ronghui, deputy director of the detention center, allowed He Lianggui to arrange sexual services for his incarcerated friend, He Yuling.
