Paris ranked first in comprehensive tourism development among 104 tourism cities around the world, according to the Annual Report on Development of World Tourism Cities 2015 released by World Tourism Cities Federation (WTCF) on Tuesday.
The WTCF ranked cities based on a comprehensive evaluation that looked at six sub-indexes, such as tourism prosperity, tourism development potential and tourism support, as well as infrastructure construction and feedback from tourists.
Hong Kong topped the Tourism Prosperity Index, showing strong trends in the city's tourism industry.
Eleven other Chinese cities ranked among the top 20 in seven different categories.
"China sees more than 4 billion visits a year, bringing in 4 trillion yuan in revenue," said WTCF Director Wei Xiao'an.
