The top discipline watchdog of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Thursday published 131 cases of violations of the Party's anti-corruption and frugality code of conduct.

The violations, published in a weekly report on the website of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI), included using public funds for travel, gifts, shopping cards, as well as dining and extravagant receptions.

Officials who held overly lavish weddings or funerals or accepted improper gifts were also named and shamed in the CCDI report.

The CCDI said it will disclose more cases in the next few weeks.

Also, the watchdog said it promoted a report filing section on is website, which the public can use to inform the CCDI of violations during the New Year and Spring Festival holidays.

More than 43,000 officials, including eight at the provincial level, were punished for violating the CPC austerity rules in the first 11 months of 2015 in China, the CCDI said in an earlier report.

The weekly reports issued during the holiday seasons in 2015 have exposed over 1,600 cases of such violations, involving more than 2,200 officials.
