A bar made of ice started serving cocktails Monday in northeast China's Harbin City.
The ice bar covers more than 100 square meters in the city's famous Central Pedestrian Street, popular among tourists. It was built in 10 days using 200 cubic meters of ice, according to its owner, who spent over 300,000 yuan (45,000 U.S. dollars) on the bar.
Besides the drinks, including many flaming cocktails, for the next two months bar-goers can enjoy hotpot, barbecue and western food served on counters made of ice, while sitting on ice stools.
The largest ever annual Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival opened on Jan. 5, and covers more than 800,000 square meters, making use of a record 330,000 cubic meters of ice and snow.
