Two human H7N9 cases have been confirmed in Ningbo City of east China's Zhejiang Province, local health authorities said on Monday.
The two patients, one of whom is in a critical condition, are both from Yinzhou District, said Nongbo's Health and Family Planning Commission.
It did not reveal any further information about the two patients.
No deaths from H7N9 have been reported in Ningbo so far.
H7N9 is a bird flu strain first reported to have infected humans in March 2013 in China. It is most likely to strike in winter and spring. Enditem
