Beijing, the Chinese capital will drop more unnecessary functions as an administration center, and make more efforts to control the population.
According to the Beijing authority, around 300 polluted factories or plants had been shut down in 2015, and the city planned to remove another 300 factories this year.
Wholesale markets, mostly located in Xicheng District, will also be abolished, making way for political, cultural and international communicational centers.
The city has also set the target to reduce population. Some 660,000 people are expected to leave the capital, from the central districts in five years. And Beijing's population will be controlled within 23 million.
Beijing is the education and medical service center in the country. Hundreds of universities, colleges and professional schools cram in the city, as you can see, mostly located in the central area and even more hospitals, adding burden to the city.
