Chinese artistes impressed Rwandans by showcasing the charm of traditional Chinese art Thursday evening in Rwanda's capital Kigali.
30 artistes from northeast China's Liaoning Province put on stage acrobatics, puppet show, dance and singing while Rwandan artistes performed various folk songs and dances.
The event was co-hosted by Chinese Embassy in Rwanda and Rwanda's Ministry of Sports and Culture to mark the upcoming Chinese Lunar New Year which falls on February 8.
Pan Hejun, the Chinese Ambassador to Rwanda said the event was geared towards strengthening ties between the two countries through culture.
"The night event is very beautiful and important for the relationship of the two countries. China and Rwanda enjoy good relationship and in the coming years, it will be even stronger," he said.
The ambassador also wished a happy new year to all Chinese and Rwandans.
Charming Liaoning Artist Troupe is on a cultural performance tour in three African countries, namely Benin, Senegal and Rwanda.
This is the third time the Chinese New Year is celebrated in Rwanda since 2013.
