China is willing to expand the all-weather partnership with Pakistan in 2016, State Councilor Yang Jiechi said on Tuesday.
This year is the 65 anniversary of diplomatic ties between China and Pakistan.
China stands ready to work with Pakistan to maintain close high-level contact, deepen pragmatic cooperation and strengthen coordination in global and regional affairs, Yang told Syed Tariq Fatemi, Pakistan's minister of state for foreign affairs.
President Xi Jinping made a state visit to Pakistan last year, Yang noted, stressing China will work with Pakistan to implement the consensus reached by the leaders.
The two countries lifted their relations to an all-weather strategic cooperative partnership during Xi's visit.
The minister said Pakistan is willing to work with China on construction of China-Pakistan economic corridor and deepen cooperation in other areas.
