A spokesperson for the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) said Friday that the "one country, two systems" principle and the Basic Law have been effectively implemented since Hong Kong's return to China.
In response to media inquiry about the office's view on the British government's latest six-monthly report to parliament on Hong Kong, the spokesperson said Hong Kong residents enjoy every right and freedom they are entitled to in accordance with law.
The Chinese central government will unswervingly implement the "one country, two systems" principle, said the spokesperson.
The spokesperson reiterated that Hong Kong is a special administrative region of China, Hong Kong affairs are China's domestic affairs, and no foreign country has the right to interfere in it.
