The mainland's Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits (ARATS) donated 5 million yuan (769,000 U.S. dollars) to Taiwan following an earthquake that hit the island on Feb. 6.
The fund, to be given to the victims' relatives and help the injured, was passed through Taiwan's Straits Exchange Foundation (SEF) to the island's Red Cross Society on Sunday, according to an ARATS statement.
The 6.7-magnitude quake killed 116 people.
The donation was from religious groups, enterprises, local governments and the public.
The ARATS contacted the SEF offering rescue assistance right after the quake struck.
