South African audience have enjoyed an extravaganza performed by Chinese artists on Saturday evening.
The show, titled "Cultures of China, Festival of Spring", took place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, attracting hundreds of Capetonians.
The audience watched the memorable cultural event in celebration of the Chinese New Year - the Year of the Monkey.
The organizers have been held such shows in over 109 countries and regions during the traditional Chinese Lunar New Year in the past seven years.
Saturday's performances attracted not only Chinese living in South Africa, but also many local people.
State-level troupe of artists from China showcased a riveting fusion of sound and visuals to present Chinese traditional and modern fashions, including dances, renowned folk songs, astonishing acrobatic performances and more.
Rose Lynne, a school teacher, said she was astonished by the gorgeous performances -- the first time for her to get a taste of the Chinese culture.
"It was a joyful and unforgettable cultural night," she said.
Western Cape Minister of Finance, Ivan Meyer, said the show was a great event and part of cultural exchanges between South Africa and China which would help promote understanding between the two peoples.
Capetonians want to see more of such performances, he said.
The show was organized by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council of China, with the support of the Chinese Consulate General in Cape Town and Chinese associations in South Africa.
