Nepali Prime Minister Khadga Prasad Sharma Oli will pay an official visit to China at the end of this month, a government spokesman said here.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers took a formal decision on Monday evening regarding the prime minister's forthcoming trip to China, spokesman of the government Sherdhan Rai, who is also the information minister, told reporters in the Nepalese Capital.

"The prime minister is likely to visit China at the end of March," the minister told reporters.

This is going to the second abroad trip of the Nepali prime minister Oli after he became prime minister on Oct. 11 last year.

Officials at the Nepal's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that internal preparations are underway for Oli's visit to China, but amicable dates are yet to be finalized between the two sides.

"The Prime Minister will attend the 2016 Annual Conference of the Boao Forum of Asia to be held in Hainan from March 22 to 25," Oli's Foreign Relations Expert Gopal Khanal told Xinhua.

"But it is confirmed that the prime minister will make an official trip to China," he added.

The 63-year-old prime minister paid a state visit to India from Feb. 19 to 24.
