As the weather gets warmer, people tend to pay more attention to their body shape. The Chinese are no exception.
There will be articles in the media to teach how to "create a flatter tummy and shapely waistline in two weeks" and one can see quips on the social media to urge people exercise more and eat less before the bathing suit season comes in order not to "feel sad in June because you don't work hard in March".
The latest encouragement that has been circulating on the social media is several pictures from the Facebook page by Fit Talerz published last year, telling people how many kilometers one has to run to burn calories from certain food.
According to the calculation, a McDonald cheese burger equals 4.05km of running while drinking a bottle of Heineken beer needs one to run 2.88km to burn the calories.
"Result based on the activity of 30-year-old man, weighing70 kg and height 180cm, running pace 6:30 min/km," explained Fit Talerz.
Healthy lifestyle has been strongly promoted these years in China as young people showing off their pictures of hiking, running, cycling, skiing or doing yoga became fashionable.
Last year, a total of 134 running races and marathons were held in China, drawing 1.5 million participants from home and abroad.
