Six fugitives have been brought back from overseas since January, said Liu Jianchao, director of the International Cooperation Bureau under the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI). [Special coverage]

He said that since the launch of the "Skynet Campaign" last year by CCDI more than 1,000 fugitives were brought back in 2015.

Among them, about 240 were government officials.

Government officials will be the key target in the anti-corruption campaign to bring back fugitives from abroad, Liu said.

Liu said China has been strengthening its cooperation with the international community, especially since the APEC meeting in 2014 where consensus was reached by the members to jointly fight against graft.

Liu also said Hong Kong has in recent years accumulated rich experience in maintaining a clean government as well as fighting against corruption.

"Hong Kong has great potential in seeking fugitives in overseas countries during the fight against corruption," Liu said.
