Shandong Luneng head coach Mano Menezes said on Tuesday that his side will not take a negative approach against Seoul FC in their upcoming Asian Champions League (ACL) game.

The Chinese Super League (CSL) side will on Wednesday host Seoul FC, which like Luneng also collected two wins from as many games to lead the Group F on goal differences, in a crucial game that will decide the final rankings of their group.

Luneng enjoy some advantage in their head-to-head record against Seoul FC with one win and one draw from all their two encounters.

But this means little for Menezes. "The record only serves as a reference, and I want to renew the record," he said.

Luneng have won their first two group games and scored five goals, conceded just one under the guidance of Menezes. The former Brazilian national team head coach still seemed unconvinced by his side's defense. He promised his side will not sit back content with defending only.

"Of course, we need to beef up our defense first, and then we will not wait to attack," said Menezes.

Luneng's hit man Diego Tardelli Martins of Brazil hinted they took this game very serious and would go all out to win.

"We are fully prepared, because the match may decide which team will go further," he said.

As coach of Seoul FC, Choi Yong-soo led the team to finish runners-up in 2013 ACL. He was rumored to have several offers from CSL clubs last year.

"CSL saw big-money influx in recent years, but we want to show our strengths," said Choi, adding his team will do all the best to take three points.
