A BBC documentary entitled "Chinese New Year, the Biggest Celebration on Earth" has created quite a buzz among Chinese audiences after it was aired on CCTV's documentary channel.
The TV documentary - a joint production between the U.K. and China - is the largest and most in-depth chronicle of Spring Festival by foreign media, and received high praise when it was first broadcast on the BBC. The documentary follows four presenters - including BBC host Kate Humble - visiting various places in China to experience Spring-Festival culture.
It profiles Chinese New Year across three episodes - "Going Home"; "Reunion"; and "Celebrations", and conveys the strong family attachments among the Chinese people and pride in their traditional culture. It was aired on CCTV over three consecutive nights from March 12 to 14.
