A project on construction of office building for Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) sponsored by China has been completed and handed over to the Lao party on Monday.
The project is a gift by the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Chinese government to Laos on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the LPRP, 40th anniversary of the founding of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, and 55th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Laos and China, said Phankham Viphavanh, a member of the Political Bureau of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee and Deputy Prime Minister of Laos.
This is a symbol of traditional friendship and cooperation between the LPRP and the CPC, the Lao official said at a ceremony held in Lao capital Vientiane on Monday, adding that it will further promote the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Laos and China.
Zhang Xiangchen, Chinese deputy international trade representative and assistant minister of commerce, for his part, said the project is an achievement in the cooperation between the two parties and governments in the new era, reflecting the CPC and Chinese government's peripheral diplomacy of "intimacy, honesty, benefaction and tolerance."
China is willing to continue strengthening the relationship between the two parties, governments and peoples, enrich the connotation of jointly building the "21st Century Maritime Silk Road," as well as providing support for the development of Laos, Zhang said.
The three-story office building for Lao party was constructed on an area of 22,000 square meters by China's Jiangsu Jiangdu Construction Group Co., Ltd.
