Chinese citizens delayed in Belgium due to the terrorist attacks at the Brussels airport and its subway system have been taken to safe places, the Chinese Embassy in Belgium said on Wednesday. No casualties among Chinese citizens have been reported.
The Chinese Embassy in Belgium said all of 56 Chinese citizens delayed, four of them from Taiwan, are now in safety and are being given food and water.
The embassy has received more than 200 calls for help and checked with Chinese tourist groups, companies and students to check for casualties. The embassy asked Chinese to exercise caution if they plan to visit Belgium.
According to the embassy, public transportation in Brussels has been gradually restored but the airports will be closed on Wednesday for further investigation. The Chinese Embassy in Belgium will pay close attention to the situation.
